Markus Schlamadinger was born in 1975 in Graz, Austria, and is a fine art photographer with a distinct focus on portrait and nude photography.

Working across both digital and analog media, his artistic language combines precision and emotion — from medium format and 35mm film to instant Polaroids. A self-taught artist, he refined his early skills in classical portrait and nude photography under the mentorship of acclaimed U.S. photographer Greg Gorman, before evolving an independent visual voice defined by authenticity, reduction, and quiet intensity.

His work has achieved international recognition, with over 90 publications in global PhotoVOGUE and numerous features in Iconic Artist Magazine, Der Greif, Dehazed, DODGED-Magazine and other distinguished platforms.

Exhibitions include multiple showings at the Fondazione Luciana Matalon in Milan, Joseph Le Palais in Paris, and venues in Catania, New York City (USA), and London (UK), as well as presentations at the Photo Biennale and SpaceX8 / Atelier Jungwirth in Austria.

Beyond his individual practice, Schlamadinger is co-founder of DODGED Magazine, an international platform dedicated to contemporary photographic art. The magazine curates emerging and established photographers worldwide, fostering dialogue and visibility for artists whose work challenges and expands the language of photography.
